Potiki Adventures is proudly a Maori owned and operated company based on Waiheke Island. The company was founded in 2004 with the vision of providing products and services to overseas visitors at the highest possible level whilst providing employment for Maori people in an environment that celebrates living and working by Maori customs, values and culture.

Shortly after the business began trading it was quickly nominated for and won several tourism and business awards including the Maori Women’s Welfare Incorporation Best Maori Women in Business Award, Her Business Magazine Business Awards, New Zealand Tourism Award and most recently the Outdoors New Zealand – Organisation Award 2014.

A Potiki Adventures tour allows the visitor an insight into Maori culture that otherwise has been inaccessible to overseas visitors. The Waiheke Island Day Tour, Exclusive Tours and Marae Stay are the tours currently on offer.

Potiki Adventures is also recognised for work within Maori communities running programmes for local young people through community based marae. Each year the company works with approximately 250 young Maori people, using outdoor education as the medium.  Some of these young people go on to become employees of the company as tour guides.
